The Billerica Varsity Girls go 8-2 in the first league meet of the season. The only two losses were to tough competitors, Central Catholic and North Andover. Billerica had some outstanding performances in this meet. In the 300 meter run, senior Leithsa DImanche placed third with a time of 44.06 seconds. Freshman Emily Burdick placed sixth overall with an impressive time of 1:48.83 in the 600 meter run. This was Burdick's first indoor track meet. Although fighting with a cold, senior Hannah Doherty placed second in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:08.19. The Anderson twins captured first and second in the mile with times of 5:24.55 and 5:25.64. Senior Danielle Sullivan placed 4th in the two-mile with a time of 12:33.49. Senior Emma Hallet racked in points in both the 55-meter hurdles and high jump. Hallet placed 5th in hurdles with a time of 9.56 seconds. Also, she placed third in high jump with a jump of five feet. Sophomore Paige Murphy placed second in long jump with a jump of 16 feet and 1 inch. The 4x200 meter relay team of Dimanche, Magliozzi, Montion, and Murphy placed third overall with a time of 1:52.78. The 4x400 meter relay team of N. Anderson, D. Anderson, Burdick, and Doherty placed second with an overall time of 4:14.99. The next league meet will take place at Boston University on January 2nd.
