On January 3, the Billerica track team competed in their second MVC conference meet. The girls finished the night going 8-1-1. The only loss was to Central Catholic and a tie against a tough North Andover team. Within the small school division, the girls are 8-0 and 16-3-1 overall in the league. Once again, there were many outstanding performances all around. In the 300 meter run, Leithsa Dimanche placed 5th overall with a time of 45.22 seconds. In the 600 meter run, Emily Burdick placed 4th with a time of 1:46.66. In the 1,000 meter run, Sydney Diorio and Danielle Sullivan placed 5th and 6th with times of 3:19.16 and 3:20.08. In the 1 mile, Nicole Anderson placed 1st with a time of 5:14.31. Right behind Anderson was Hannah Doherty in 2nd with a time of 5:21.68. In the 2 mile, there were three top 10 performance times. In 3rd place was Deidra Anderson with a time of 11:55.13. Cassidy Elliot placed 9th overall with a time of 12:58.29. Freshman Sophia Manne placed 10th with a time of 13:31.81. In the 55 meter hurdles, Paige Murphy placed 4th with a time of 9.23 seconds. Emma Hallet placed 6th with a time of 9.41 seconds. The 4x200 meter relay team of Leithsa Dimanche, Sophia Magliozzi, Lauren Montion, and Bella Pereira placed 2nd with a time of 1:50.94. The 4x400 meter relay team of Hannah Doherty, Sydney Diorio, Emily Burdick, and Nicole Anderson placed 3rd with a time of 4:15.54. In the high jump, Emma Hallet placed 3rd with a jump of 5-00.00 feet. In long jump, Paige Murphy placed 3rd with a jump of 16-03.50 feet. In shot put, Brianna Martine placed 1st with a throw of 32-07.75 feet. Alyssa Caputo placed 4th with a throw of 30-11.00. The Billerica girls will go head to head against Tewksbury on January 9th for the small school division title.
