This past Thursday, the Billerica girls track team beat Tewksbury in the fight for the small school division title. The events were only scored against Tewksbury during this meet. The meet started with a sweep of the 55m hurdles, with Emma Hallet, Paige Murphy, and Lauren Montion claiming the top 3 spots. Isabella Pereira won the 55m dash and added more points for Billerica. In the 300m run, Leithsa Dimanche and Sophia Magliozzi took 2nd and 3rd. Nicole Anderson and Sydney Diorio placed 1st and 2nd in the 600m run. In the 1000m run, there was another sweep with senior Hannah Doherty who took 1st, followed by freshman Emily Burdick and Anna McElhinney, who placed 2nd and 3rd. The girls in the mile went 1-3, with Deidra Anderson, Cassidy Elliot, and Sophia Manne. Danielle Sullivan won the two-mile followed by Puja Jhaveri and Deidre Bailat, who placed 2nd and 3rd. Emma Hallet won high jump followed by Kayley Mace, who took home second. Paige Murphy won long jump. Brianna Martini placed 1st in shot put, and Alyssa Caputo was 2nd. This was the last league meet of the season for the track team. The meets from this point forward will be invitationals and state meets only.
