After being the wild card team to make it to the All-State meet, the Billerica girls varsity cross country team placed 4th this weekend. Despite the cold and raw weather conditions, the girls still put up a great fight at Gardner this past Saturday. Senior Hannah Doherty rose to the occasion and placed 6th with an impressive time of 19:20. Not far behind was senior Nicole Anderson, who placed 9th overall with a time of 19:34. Third for Billerica was senior Deidra Anderson with a time of 20:38. Senior Danielle Sullivan and senior Sydney Diorio finish together to place 4th and 5th for the team. Freshman Emily Burdick was right behind Sullivan and Diorio to cap off an excellent freshman year. Junior Cassidy Elliott placed 7th for the squad. This was the second-highest finish for the Billerica Cross Country team after last year's 3rd place finish. This meet wraps up the phenomenal season for the girls and is the last high school cross country race for our seniors.
